Through the combined utilization of the bioskills and mechanical test laboratories, RIHOF enables orthopedic clinicians and industry collaborators to conduct cutting edge biomechanical research in areas such as joint stability, fracture fixation, ligament reconstruction, range of motion and alternative surgical approaches. At RIHOF, the research process is simple and streamlined: researchers prepare cadaveric specimens in the bioskills lab, test the specimens on a load frame in the adjacent mechanical test lab, and instantly obtain results that can be used to refine the test method.
