Helmet Testing

Services offered by the RIH Orthopaedic Foundation, Inc. in the area of sports helmets include testing to compliance with:
-US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
-American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
-A2LA laboratory accreditation for CPSC 16, CFR1203 (bicycle helmets), ASTM F1446, ASTM 1492 (skateboarding helmets), and ASTM F2040 (ski and snowboard helmets).

Women's Lacrosse Sticks Testing

The RIH Orthopaedic Foundation, Inc. offers official compliance testing for women's lacrosse sticks. We are the authorized testing laboratory for the International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA) and US Lacrosse, Women's Division (USLax). We test both goalkeeper and field player crosses to the current IFWLA Field Crosse Specification Rule 3 and the current USLax Official Rules for Girls and Women's Lacrosse.

For research, we are working with the NCAA and lacrosse ball manufacturers to assess the current ball standard. We are determining the applicability of measuring the compressability and high-speed performance of lacrosse balls.

We have A2LA laboratory accreditation for IFWLA Rule 3 and US Lacrosse Rule 22. Find our certificate here by searching RIH Orthpaedic Foundation

The bioskills suite located within our lab can accommodate large surgeon education and sales training labs with two fluoroscopes, two necropsy tables, and four complete arthroscopic stations.
